Before you begin: Transfer Checklist
Did you register or renew the domain within the last 60 days?
- Sorry! You cannot transfer your domain at this time. This is due to rules set in place by ICANN.
- If not, please proceed.
Backup your DNS records before transferring your domain.
- Our system will update your nameservers to the ones provided by OpenSRS upon successful domain transfers. By default, we will automatically create the necessary DNS records needed for Web and Email hosting with BlueberryCMS. You might need to re-create special DNS records that your customer uses for email like MX and TXT records.
Login to your current domain registrar and unlock your domain.

Get your authorization code.
- At your current Domain Registrar, you'll need to find out how to obtain your auth code. This code is typically emailed to the Administrative Contact. See GoDaddy's documentation on obtaining an authorization code.
Ready? Let's begin the domain transfer
In the Agency Portal, navigate to the Projects > Domains > Transfers tab. Type in the name of the domain you wish to transfer along with the authorization code, then click Begin Transfer.
Then go through the checkout process to purchase the domain transfer. Your purchase includes 1 year of registration as well!
The Administrative Contact of your domain will receive an email requesting their approval. Simply click the approval link at the bottom of the message and the transfer will be underway!
Keep an eye out for additional emails or requests from your current registrar in order to approve the transfer. You might be required to perform more steps than what is shown here.
Domain transfers can be completed within as little as a couple hours sometimes, but every registrar is different. Sometimes transfers can take up to 7 days for processing! Ultimately, domain transfers require final approval from your registrar.
Check the status of your transfer
You can revisit the Domains > Transfers tab at anytime to view any pending domain transfers along with their current statuses in the table at the bottom of the screen.
Confirm your domain name and contact information
Upon the completion of a domain transfer, the Administrative Contact will receive one final email to confirm the domain name and contact information is up to date. Please take the time to ensure everything accurate and click the verification link.
Manage your domain
After successfully transferring your domain to BlueberryCMS, you will now see the domain appear under the Agency > Domains section. Simply click on your domain name to manage domain contacts and DNS records.
Your domain is now ready to go!
